When Austin-based ad agency Preacher began planning for a new office, Kartwheel concepted creative designs to build a space with soul.
Preacher is more than an ad agency—it’s a place where creatives gather to find inspiration. After outgrowing their previous office, they asked Kartwheel to take the reins on designing a new space that could function as an office, a gallery, and an event space for hosting clients, all while showing off Preacher’s creative chops.
With Preacher’s blessing to take creative liberties, Kartwheel conceptualized a one-of-a-kind entrance inspired by small-town hardware stores and finished with an old-school diner. Along with designing an open office and plenty of nooks for collaboration, Kartwheel also ensured that the interior flowed seamlessly into outdoor areas for entertaining and socializing.
WITH SOCIAL AREAS ON THE FIRST FLOOR AND AN OPEN OFFICE FLOOR PLAN ON THE SECOND, KARTWHEEL’S DESIGN SEAMLESSLY MERGES WORK AND PLAY.
“This entire approach opened us up to the rich creative community we always knew was here. Without it, I don't know if we would have met and been a true part of if we were just doing advertising.” — ROB BAIRD, FOUNDER + CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER
THE OPEN-CONCEPT WORK SPACE LENDS ITSELF TO COLLABORATION AND BIG IDEAS, WHILE COZY FURNISHINGS IN PRISTINE HUES MAKE FOR HOSPITALITY-STYLE VIGNETTES THAT WELCOME BOTH GUESTS AND EMPLOYEES.
USING PREACHER’S SUB-MARK AS INSPIRATION, KARTWHEEL DEVISED A CUSTOM TILE DESIGN AS A COST-EFFICIENT WAY TO CREATE A BRANDED MOMENT.
“We knew the world didn't need another creative agency, but our industry could certainly use some more soul and genuine community. This place helps us live up to that every day.” — ROB BAIRD, FOUNDER + CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER
